About Voxo

A small product with a simple goal: make it easy to practise spoken English with a real person, today.

The problem

Most English courses stop at the page. You can read a sentence, you can fill a gap in a grammar test, and you can write a message that takes an hour to compose. What you rarely get is the thing that actually moves the needle: a spontaneous conversation where you have to find the word while someone is waiting for you to say it.

What we built

Voxo is a voice-first platform. You create a profile, you pick a themed room or you let the Quick Talk matcher find you a partner, and then you talk. The rooms are deliberately small, the interface is deliberately quiet, and the only thing between you and the conversation is your microphone.

How it works technically

  • Audio is peer to peer using WebRTC. Your voice goes to the person you are talking to, not to a server that stores it.
  • STUN servers help two devices find each other. A TURN relay is used only when a direct connection is impossible.
  • Signalling travels over Supabase Realtime on private channels that only the members of a room can join.
  • Rooms, matching, blocks and reports live in a PostgreSQL database, and every access rule is enforced there — not in the browser.

What we will not do

  • Record your voice or keep transcripts of your conversations.
  • Sell your data or show your email address to other members.
  • Fill the interface with fake activity, fake testimonials or fake numbers.
